Hello,
I’ve checked many approved NIW case lists (like 500-600 cases) and I can see that almost no one of the cases is specialized in Psychology. Could you please advise if is this because psychology researchers/psychologists tend to get rejected or they don’t even apply? I should know this for my future plans.
Thank you so much!

There is no rule to specifically deny psychology applications. You need to convincingly demonstrate how your work is important to U.S. national interests. If you can do this, then you can apply. Where did you find these approved NIW cases?
Those 4 pdf documents contain:
900 EB1-A cases
187 EB1-B cases
673 NIW cases
and 53 O-1 cases.
I spent hours to read those lists and there was just one psychology and extremely few non stem specialties in general. I think more than 99% are stem. It’s very discouraging because it gives the impression that the denied applications must be mostly non stem PhDs.
What do you think?
Thank you for sharing these. I wish they had more up-to-date stats!
Well, those are the cases handled by a particular law office. It is possible that they have chosen to work with clients with STEM degrees, so these stats may not be a representative sample of the cases approved by USCIS.
