If you have the credentials that satisfy USCIS EB1a criteria (3 EB1a uscis requirements and small percent of top people in the work area with sustained interest), you can certainly self-petition. USCIS does not stipulate the need for a PhD degree or where the degree should be from for EB1a. However most PhDs, during the course of their work would have acquired the right credentials. We suggest you look at the EB1a page and see if you satisfy the criteria. You can also try our example petition packets if you decide to apply on your own. We can help evaluate your resume if you can send us more details.

If you hold the title of Assistant Professor, then there is a good chance you may qualify for this category, however, more information is needed to say something certain.
