Dear Sir,

I am planning to self petition for EB1A in the nearest future. I secured a PhD scholarship for my studies (from a university, in Thailand) and also a separate research grant to conduct research (from the same university). I would like to know if the scholarship and the grant could count towards the application process (apart from the publications).

Regards,

Seye

Hi Seye,

The PhD scholarship would not count for EB1A case. If the research grant is given mostly to students, it would not count either. Please feel free to ask further questions in this thread.

Thank you for your response. The research grant is given only to qualified scholarship students through respective thesis advisors. Also, What about EB2 NIW?

If it is given to students, then it plays nearly no role in EB1A, because the awardees should be chosen among professional peers on the national or international level. Regarding EB2-NIW, please have a look at the requirements (link below). Student scholarship can be used in the case, but, again, it plays far smaller role, than the other evidence.
