Citations for industry

Published Dec 18,2023 By Sam_EB1A_GC

Hello,
I am Sam from USA. I am working in IT since little more than 10 years now. I have 4 papers in route for publication and planning on publishing atleast few more in first quarter of 2024. Since I work full time in industry, its hard to write paper. I have reviewed close to 20 papers. I am working on patent and it should be approved in 1 year if all goes well.

In order to show I rise on top of my field, what do I need? I need recommendation letters from folks I worked with. If I write more papers and have 200 citations ( right now I have zero), will it be beneficial to me since I work in industry. If I get into PhD thesis co- advisor role will it help?

Hi Sam,

Please have a look at our free eBook for more information:

To answer your questions, if you write more papers and have 200 citations, this will be beneficial. However, if you have other ways to satisfy the USCIS criteria, then it’s not necessary. Getting into PhD thesis co-advisor role might not be beneficial.
