Published Feb 27,2019 By Sweta Joshi

Hi

I am a PhD student (US university) , will have my PhD done by EOY.

I am doing my PhD in Early Childhood Education . Currently don’t have any publications but will have 2 by end of year.

I did presented my work in a few national level conferences and worked on multiple articles and projects.

Am I qualified to apply for EB1A , if not then what i need to do to be qualified for the same.

Thanks

Hi Sweta,

Recently, it has become more difficult to obtain EB1A, even with strong petitions. Without publications/citations it will be nearly impossible. In the past, median number of citations for a successful applicant was around 150 and less emphasis was put on the citations. Now, an application with 500-1000 citations, that would have been approved in the past, can be rejected. Please have a look at the criteria by the link below and let us know if you have any further questions. In simple terms, for EB1A, one has to prove that one is among the best specialists in the world in their field. If one is not cited well, it is hard to prove.
